Meet ‘Butterfly Effect’.

Our Nursery Schools aren’t the only things standing tall in #Croydon! This #giraffe sculpture named ‘Butterfly Effect’, is part of #CroydonStandsTall – a free art trail in Croydon until 27th October raising funds for #Crisis Skylight Croydon. Created by Jeru Nomi, Butterfly Effect is a celebration of the colour and beauty of nature, and how #humanity interacts with it.

In chaos theory, #TheButterflyEffect is the idea that a small #action or #change can have a huge #impact.

Imagine if our maintained nursery schools were sufficiently funded.

Imagine if, when making decisions, those elected to advocate positive change chose to draw on the extensive #research there is in support of maintained nursery schools. Research has shown that investing in early years education and care positively impacts individuals, families, the wider community and the economy. (Source: EPPE project)

There are a number of things we are doing to support and protect early education across our nursery schools, some of which might seem small, but we believe will have a positive impact.

Here are some of the ways you can get start to get involved:

-Complete the #consultation #survey- it’s open to the #public, and so anyone, anywhere can have their say. (Link in bio)

-Come along to the day of action hosted by southnorwoodkitchen

-Sign the #petition – this will help to highlight the concerns about the #Croydoncouncil’s proposal.

-Repost, like, comment and share posts – engaging with us helps raise the profile of the uncertain future Croydon’s nursery schools currently face.

-For those who have little ones in early years provision, be sure to let staff know that they are valued. Part of protecting early education and care for our children is supporting those who work with them!
