Posted 21st May 2023

Croydon Stands Tall, the mass participation art trail supported by Superdrug, has officially opened a new artist space in Centrale Shopping Centre, Croydon.

The artist space will enable the project’s 30 artists to bring to life one of the most eagerly awaited mass participation trails seen in south London.

Over 250 designs were submitted to Croydon Stands Tall from across the country and beyond, with sponsors choosing the final 30 designs from the 71 shortlisted to go ahead to the main Croydon Stands Tall art trail, which will go live for 10 weeks from Monday 21st August 2023.

The trail will feature an eclectic mix of designs, including: ‘The Sun and the Moon’ by Harkiran Kalsi, ‘Mechani-Kit’ by Peter Poole, ‘Diverse-City’ by Becky James, ‘It’s all about the people’ by Felipe Caro, ‘Hues of Surrey Street’ by Aaron Bevan, ‘Nature’ by Nicole Lane, and ‘Concrete Jungle’ by Alec Saunders to name but a few!

Keely Dench, Business Engagement & Place Manager said:

“The Croydon Stands Tall artist space is so engaging because we all get to see art in action. It’s incredibly amazing to see the giraffes transform right before your eyes. If you haven’t already ventured past the artist space, please come down and see us.”

The artist space will be open until 9th June as is located opposite House of Fraser in Centrale Shopping Centre, Croydon.
